i have been all over the pheonix metro area eating pho, and i have to say that this is the best place to date! i have never had such an authentic tasting broth in arizona. even the after taste of this pho was better than most other place's pho. if you love pho, try this place. i promise you wont be disappointed!

I disagree with the previous reviewer. It's an okay place to go if you don't have any other options. The place is a hole in a wall...literally. Old and run down. It's busy with the locals but not a place for guests. Food is average. The only good thing about this place is that it's cheap. Very cheap.

When it comes to ethnic restaurant, you want to eat where they eat. This was the first Vietnamese restaurant in Phoenix and it had kept their door opened for the last 10 years and still going strong. They have always been extremely busy and kept their meat fresh and their soup properly prepared. Since making the broth takes 36 hours, you can only taste them in restaurants like this one. They have been smart to keep their price at rock bottom and delivered highest quality products-motto for all serious restauranteurs.

Pretty much the most authentic Vietnamese cuisine you can get in the valley for a cheap price. The place is a hole in a wall, but the food is clean and fresh. There’s never no line or wait. All the locals come out here for noodles and strong Vietnamese ice coffee. Service is quick while the portions are fairly big for what you would pay for and tasty too. The sandwiches are toasty French baguettes stuff with bbq meat and vegetables which is a favorite of my fiancé. If your hungry and in a hurry looking for something fresh and flavorful this place is it!

I'm originally from CA, so Pho here is no comparison. However, it's alright for my taste. Their prices are resonable, but the restaurant is dirty. Especially the surrounding is just filthy beyond my forgivings. I should say it's one of the top Pho place in the valley, but I aint coming back because of the cleanliness. If you don't mind that, then I say it does have some decent food.

I've had their pho about 4 times. The only reason we would eat at this place was because it was on the way while driving to cali. The atmosphere sucks. Typically white stained ceilings, walls, floors. Pretty dirty and I would be scared to find out what the kitchen looks like. Being Vietnamese you learn to ignore these things to eat and just get out. Pho is okay, nothing to rave about. Out of the 4 times I had it it was a hit and miss. The biggest complaint I have about this place is the service and cleanliness. It's been a year and a half since I've been back. My new love is Dragonfly, hip, clean, trendy, friendly service, and by far the best pho.

I had a bowl of the #1 - rare beef, brisket, fatty flank, tendon, and tripe and it was excellent. The rare beef was plentiful and still slightly pink in certain spots, which i like and is not always the case at other places. Ideally, I would have preferred a little more of each of the other meats but it wasn't a deal breaker. Tasty clean broth that doesn't have the "fake" taste that some do. Good noodle to broth ratio. This is my new place to get pho - and it's a deal at only $4.95

This was actually pretty good in comparison to some places that I have been to before. Not the best, but certainly not the worst . . . better than average. The broth was very tastey and you can't beat the price, however the meat was not very tender and the bowl was actually quite smaller than what I am used to. Overall, I would recommend this place!

There are about 20 reasons why I will not eat here. Let me share a few... the place is filthy from the dining area all the way to the kitchen! I got a glimpse at the kitchen when I first went there . . . one word: DISGUSTING. The atmosphere or lack thereof. The workers are rude and creepy! The service is nonexistent! Most importantly, the pho was like a bowl of brown broth with a hint of pho flavor. Hate is a strong word. I HATE THIS PLACE!

One of the things I became aware of after so many bowls of “Pho,” is that I much prefer the robust flavorful broths. The broth here was delicate and almost fragrant, but not as robust as I might like. It also didn’t have as much meat as I would prefer. It is easy to see why it is a favorite (Restaurant was packed at Noon on a Wednesday) as it is just a nice “bowl of love,” at an amazing price ($4.50) but was not nearly as memorable as my favorites and not what I am looking for.

Da Vang isn't at all fancy but my Asian friends love it. They say the food is authentic and despite the atmosphere, it's well worth going to. As an American I don't have the international tastes to appreciate the exotic foods but I love the barbeque chicken sandwich. It sells for $2.50 at Da Vang and $8. at Rice Paper. Both sandwiches are great but at Rice Paper you're paying for the great atmosphere, not the flavor. That's fine if your feeding your ego but I feed my tastebuds.

I was born and raised in Cali and they have some of the best pho there this was my first time trying it in AZ and I must say it was very delicious and I got a good size plate for the price not to mention I ordered spring rolls which my kids loved and they are picky eaters. It is a little hole in the wall but the food was good and fairly priced and both times that I went in there they were packed.

Da Vang is my spot, I eat here at least once, but usually two to three times a week. The place is old and could use a fresh coat of paint, but most of the time it is fairly clean. I havent seen bugs or anything, but the walls are that light yellow that makes you think dirty. that being said, if you want nice and fancy go pay more elsewhere. food is awesome.

Good for price. Best is Kai Huon on Apache in Tempe
