Ths undisputed king of Pho in Portland!

Nice restaurant, a bit more fancier than the typical pho restaurants we have eaten in, however, the service was fast and the pho very good. Besides Pho they offered other items and they looked very tempting. Whenever we are in the Portland area, we make it a point to eat there.

the restaurant is not too divey, yet reasonably authentic, with vietnamese staff and clientelle, and homemade nuoc mong on each table. the 2 of us ordered the eye of round pho. the service was fast - perhaps too fast. we were disappointed to find the meat cooked upon arrival: with such quick service, it should shurely have still been raw. the bowl was generously sized, and accompanied by fresh and aromatic thai basil, sprout, and lime. the broth was plentiful with a pleasing aroma, but a bit thin. given the low fat content, substantial flavoring was required. the noodles were well cooked and well behaved, and had a nice mouth feel. the meat, while of a good quality, was overcooked, leaving it unapetizing grey and firm, ultimately this pho's undoing, and a substantial barrier to greatness. nonetheless, an overall satisfying experience, and i would return - with hopes of better meat.

Must... have... Pho... Hung... My friends and I drive 15 minutes to and from this place every week. If there is better pho out there, I haven't had it yet.
