This tacky little restaurant at the corner of Prospect and Independence Ave. surpasses all other offerings in Kansas City which I have tried so far. I actually get cravings for the pho from this restaurant and will drive across town to sate that urge. Don't park in the rear, lest bums pissing on dumpsters offends you, but the food is positively worth the foray into da 'hood.

this is the best pho place in kc. i would have to drive 20 mins to the missouri side to go to this place. they have the best broth, sweet and not too dark. the broth is on par with the best wichita has to offer. you can really smell all the spices that give pho that special aroma. the only thing that is lacking is the ngo gai. i think they dont use it because it's expensive. too bad it happens to be my favorite garnish.

I've had Pho in cities all over the United States and I have to say that Pho 97 is the best that I've had. While the restuarant inself may by lacking in ambiance, the owner's friendlessness and the food make up for it.

Right down the middle average. I want to like this place because of the ambiance and location. The man (possibly owner) was especially nice. He was trying to teach me some viet. The pho is average and a little forgetful. I took a friend for his first phoxperience and he was wondering what the big phous is all about.
