Pho Phan
Went here yesterday (4/25/2009). The broth is delicious! - so much so that I added neither hoisin sauce nor rooster sauce (which is great to cut down on the sodium intake). I do wish the broth had been blistering hot to begin with. Halfway through my meal the broth had turned tepid (was not traumatic enough to demote to a 4-star rating). The meat is sliced very, very thin (loved that) but the portion of meat was extremely skimpy. From the outside this restaurant looks very nondescript and basic. The exterior is deceiving. Inside, there are more than a few tables. The staff is very friendly, and they smile. My brother and I were done with our Pho but then sat and talked for another hour and a half. It was a comfortable, cozy place to sit and have lunch. The Pho comes with a tasty little pastry. My brother and I both had "large" bowls of Pho Tai Chin, my brother had a Coke, and I had a water. Our total bill came to less than $13. I would definitely recommend coming here but would maybe ask for "extra meat" if one likes a little more of that in their Pho. My brother only lives five blocks away from this place, so I'm more than a little jealous.

I have been to Pho Vietnam many times. I usually get the chicken (pho ga) which is always good. I get the ice coffee. The owners/operators are very nice. A warning: it fills up during the lunch hour, so het there early. The prices are very good.
