Great unique Pho! This place uses this special oil called Sate (I'm guessing thats what its called) that spices up the soup. They have other dishes on the menu but the Pho is what I get most of the time. I do recommend S3 on their menu for anyone not in the mood for soup. Only problem I have with this place is they only take cash and the staff speak limited English but all and all worth going.

Pho Sate used to be at the intersection of Annandale and Rt. 50 where I first enjoyed their great soup. They closed for a year or two, I was so mad they closed down. During that time I started going to Viet House in Fairfax. But it reopened last fall and its still as damn good as it used to be. Best Pho I have ever had.

Good pho, and I am very picky about my pho. They can be a bit inconsistent at times - more/less meat & vegs, etc. Nevertheless, it's pretty darn good.

I rated the pho here a few years ago and wanted to update my opinion - The pho here at Pho Sate is now the best in this area! They have corrected any inconsistencies (the broth was always excellent though) and have improved their meat cuts. This place is the ONLY one nearby that will actually serve their rare steak as rare - perfect for diping in the chili oil (only a few places serve this) that accompanies your pho here. Because of the aforementioned, this place has become increasingly popular and business seems good - no long lines though. I have been eating and writing comments on pho from around the country and for many years. Even Vietnamese ask me where the best pho is when they go somewhere, so let me tell you this,... I believe this place has the best pho in the area including, but not limited to, that of Pho 75 and Pho 50.
