The pho here is a notch above serviceable. Nothing was bad, just not necessarily outstanding, compared to other pho I have had.

However, the service was not serviceable. Though our pho came out fast, the lunch overall was not, checkout was a pain, the water tasted like bamboo, and the drinks were not refilled.

The pho's okay, I just hope your service is better.

This place is not so good. Do not order fried rice like I did. It tasted like white rice. No meat and only two shrimps when I specifically ordered combination fried rice. I want my money back... I paid $8.** for this too. What a waste of money.

I like this place. They gave a healthy amount of pho and it's pretty traditional pho, just like how mom use to make. You got your pho pretty fast and I was in and out in no time. The waitress I usually get is always friendly and talkative but I do have to say not all of them are like that, the other I had is real quiet and don't say very much.

Overall it's good, but not the best but would recommend to others no doubt.

I am not sure how long ago these other reviews were submitted, but here is mine.

01/27/09 - This is my fourth time at this restaurant and I have found both the food and the service to be very good.

I have tried (I don't remember the actual names off-hand) the beef ribeye and brisket Pho, the meatball Pho and the "everything" Pho with all the fixins. (Beef tendon, tripe, beef ribeye, beef brisket, meat balls. All the good stuff.)

Now, we do not have a lot of Pho restaurants around here. We have 4 or 5 that serve it and only a few are really good. I count this among the good ones. I am sure people could find reasons that it is not the "best", but it is very good for central Iowa, which is all I know.

It has tasty hot flavorful broth, nice cuts of meat, fresh veggies, lots of herbs and spices and comes served with a smile.

If you read here looking for Pho in Des Moines, try it out. It is a nice little hidden treasure.

I love this place. The poor service is in no way race related they give everyone the same slow to non-existent service. These are very nice people (all of the employee's) and I like to spend money here for a nice meal.
