Than Brothers is a classic. It's broth is arguably the best in Seattle. It's meat is the only thing that keeps it competing with other pho places, however the meat is not bad, it's just not thick and tender, and more like lunch meat. It's cheaper too, justifying this.

Than Brothers is a classic place to eat with friends because of its cheap and quick service. The broth is the key for the taste because of the meat lacks quality, however the taste isn't that bad depending on which type of meat(s) you choose. The noodles are plentiful and taste amazing because they have soaked up all the tasty broth. There are vegetables that can be chosen, such as lime, bean sprouts, onions, cilantro etc. but it is too hard to determine how fresh they are. The real reason Than Brothers is an outstanding pho restaurant is the size of the portions. With 4 cheap selections of size, any appetite can be fulfilled, no matter how large or small. Also, the complementary cream puff that is provided is an amazing finishing touch to such an amazing meal.

Than Brothers is my favorite Pho place in Seattle, and my first time eating Pho was at Than Brothers on Aurora avenue (near 80th & Aurora, their first location). Their Broth is excellent. Their sizes seem larger than other places, I am always full on a small size, where other places small seem smaller, and I leave feeling not as full as when I leave Than Brothers. The prices seem to be the cheapest too, so this is another reason I like them so much. Another reason is the complementary cream puff, they are so good, and it is an excellent way to finish off the meal, complementing the spicey soup perfectly (sweet cream inside puff cools the mouth). I have ordered extra cream puffs before, a box of a dozen and brought them to work, where they were devoured, and endlessly complemented, and they are so cheap! Compared to Beard Papas cream puffs in Uwajimaya, they are so much better and a fraction of the cost (1 free with your Pho- but so good, its a good idea to order extras). The broth is by far the best in Seattle. The meat is the only complain, while very good- it often clumps together, I dont think they do a good job of seperating the slices before putting in your bowl, and I prefer when the steak is given to you seperately, still raw so that you can put it in yourself and watch cook in the hot broth. I am a regular at Than Brothers lower queen anne location.
