Koreans are hot for Pho

Wow! According to this article there are over 200 pho restaurants in Seoul. Apparently, Pho took a very ciruitous route to get there: it did not come directly from Viet Nam but rather arrived with Koreans returning from the United States. Some Koreans (who stayed in the United States) liked pho so much that they opened their own pho restaurants. As a result, many Korean-owned pho restaurants dot the streets in the area known as Koreatown in Los Angeles.

It’s not a surprise that Pho is so popular with Koreans. Our favorite dish is similar to an oxtail soup Koreans enjoy called Ggori-gom-tahng. We have sampled this soup in L.A.’s Koreatown and enjoyed it. Of course, it does not compare to a bowl of pho in our eyes!

I’m Korean. I’ve tried their Pho but, it doesn’t taste as good though. The meat is hard, the broth is too light.

From what I’ve seen, Korean in SF love Pho too. But then again, who doesn’t Pho is awesome. Gotta love that the US has just about every ethnic food the world has to offer and it’s awsome.

PS. Korean girls with that American attitude are HOT too. 😉
